In late 2003, Cookshack and Fast Eddy's BBQ formed an agreement for Cookshack to manufacture and market Ed Maurin's line of championship barbecue smokers. "Fast Eddy" had been winning Grand Championships for about 15 years with his smokers, and he built them for other competitors as well. He was ready to expand, and Cookshack was ready to complete its product lines with a brand of top quality professional competition smokers.

The Fast Eddy's by Cookshack brand was launched, and sales have exceeded our expectations as the smokers continue to help professional competitors take home the big trophies and checks.

Eddy, a retired Kansas City firefighter, makes his home in Kansas City and can frequently be found in Ponca City working on product improvements and development with our R&D team. Eddy travels to barbecue competition events across the nation, and has appeared on national television barbecue cooking programs such as Chris Lilly's All-Star Barbecue Championship Series, the Versus BBQ Championship Series, and ESPN2's Competitive Edge.
